RESEARCH TOPICS
Study of bio-processes with various scales involving simulations and experiments.
The main field of application is the secondary treatment of waste water. The recommended approach was also applied to the production of wine.
I have a good expertise in knowledge-based simulation using ordinary differential equations (ODE) that may give information about the global functioning of a bioprocess. I used the CFD (RANS equations) to give information of flow and forces at local scale; More recently statistic models, like fuzzy logic, allowed us to simulate a complex process.
To understand the functioning of bio-processes and get complementary information, I developed experimental skill in:
- Bioprocesses at bench end pilot scale
- Sludge rheology
- Biofloc size and morphology
